Elections

The City of Cocoa Beach holds elections on even years, on the first Tuesday, after the first Monday in November.

Please note, City Charter Section 2.01 states: Term limits. No commissioner shall serve more than two (2) consecutive four (4) year terms. A break in service of a minimum of one (1) year after a commissioner has served two (2) consecutive four (4) year terms allows a former commissioner to run for election and upon election to serve up to two (2) consecutive four (4) year terms. Service for two (2) or more years of any one term shall constitute a full term. This limitation shall only apply to commission terms commencing November 8, 2016, for Seats 1, 2 and 3, and November 6, 2018, for Seats 4, and 5, and terms thereafter. 

An election is scheduled for November 7, 2024.  The following Commission Seats are up for election: 
- Commissioner Seat 1 a 4-year term. (Mayor Capizzi is serving the first term.) 
- Commissioner Seat 2 a 4-year term, (Commissioner Jackson started serving his term in September 2023.)
- Commissioner Seat 3, a 4-year term. (Commissioner Woulas is serving the second consecutive term, and is not eligible for re-election.)
