MINUTEMEN STREETSCAPE DETOUR

Public safety is the primary concern when rerouting pedestrian/bikers during the Minutemen Streetscape Project. With the assistance of the Cocoa Beach Police Department, contractor and City Staff a new safer route will be utilized beginning tomorrow. This route supersedes yesterday's CBNN. 


Pedestrian traffic along the WEST side of S Brevard Av (northbound towards Minutemen) will cross on the NORTH side of 1^st St S and proceed on the EAST side of S Brevard Av towards City Hall. The sidewalk continues between the City Hall parking lot and the Fire Station #1 parking lot – the vehicle connection between the two parking lots will no longer be available.  Pedestrian traffic will continue around the north side of City Hall to Orlando Av sidewalk, crossing Minutemen on the WEST side of Orlando Av.  Pedestrian traffic (westbound towards the schools) will now be on the NORTH side of Minutemen, between pedestrian barricades. Pedestrians and bikers will then follow the barricaded path to proceed west on Minutemen Causeway.
