UPDATE TROPICAL STORM ERIKA

The Fire Chief gave a 5:00pm update to the City Manager and Staff on Tropical  Storm Erika. The good news for the City of Cocoa Beach is that the storm has moved west and the city does not expect to experience any tropical storm winds. However, residents should prepare for lots of rain: 6-8 inches. Crews will be monitoring streets and drains to ensure they the water is kept flowing.

Enjoy the weekend even though it will be wet and be thankful the tropical storm will miss our fair city.

Thank you to all city staff that made preparations for the storm. If the situation changes over the weekend we will endeavor to get information out on CBNN.

If you have any questions or non-emergency questions the hotline set up this morning will be monitored throughout the weekend. That number is:

321-868-3330
