1. Who do I contact to fix the traffic sign on my street?

The city maintains street signs and signals on all city streets except A1A and SR 520.

• If a traffic sign on a city street needs repair or replacement call 321-868-3219 or 321-868-3293.
• If a traffic signal is out during the day call 321-868-3219 or 321-868-3371.
• For problems on State Road A1A or SR 520 please contact the Florida Department Of Transportation's office in Cocoa at 321-690-3250.
• To report a malfunctioning traffic signal after hours anywhere in the city, please call Cocoa Beach Police Dispatch non-emergency line at 321-868-3251 or 321-868-3260.

2. The streetlights are out on my street - who should I contact?

Streetlights are maintained by Florida Power and Light (FPL). FPL can be contacted at 321-723-7795.

3. Who do I call for utility line locations?

In order to make sure that a site is safe for digging you can enter a ticket at Sunshine811 or call them at 800-432-4770.

4. The flag at one of the public properties has been torn by the wind - who should I notify?

The city has a contract with an outside firm to maintain the flags. If one of our flags has been damaged please notify us at 321-868-3219, or 321--868-3293, and we will contact the contractor immediately.

5. The sanitation truck did not pick-up my trash - what should I do?

You can report a trash pick up concern at Waste Management or 321-636-6894. If you need additional assistance after contacting Waste Management, please contact the city at 321-868-3219 or by email public works.

6. Who do I contact regarding an unattended dog roaming around my neighborhood?

Brevard County Animal Control is responsible for dealing with stray dogs and cats.

7. While walking on the beach I noticed some turtle nests that may be in danger. Who should I notify?

Sea turtles are a protected species and numerous agencies and volunteer groups devote time and money to preserve the species. The Turtle Preservation Society should be notified at 321-676-1701 if you find a nest or turtles in peril.

8. Who do I contact if there are dead marine mammals on the beach?

 Sea Turtles: The Turtle Preservation Society must first be contacted:

Upon their inspection, the turtles will be marked with orange paint to indicate that they have been inspected and are ready to be disposed of by city workers.

9. The recent rain flooded my street, I think the storm drain is blocked. Who should I contact?

The stormwater sewers in the city are maintained by the City's Stormwater Department. You can call Stormwater at 321-868-3292, or email stormwater if the drains on your street are blocked or if you have an ongoing water drainage problem. The Stormwater Department also operates a street sweeper to remove excess sand and dirt from roadways.

10. The dune crossover was damaged by heavy surf. Who needs to be notified to get repairs going?

The City's Public Works Department handles dune crossover repairs, you can report damage by reporting crossover damage online or calling 321-868-3219 to report any such repair needs.

11. Who do I call regarding the trimming of vegetation along the beach/dune?

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) issues field permits for such trimming, they can be contacted at 321-725-4548.

12. Heavy rain brought floating debris to the canal behind my home. Is there a department in the city that handles these situations?

The City's Stormwater Department is responsible for maintaining clear passage on the city's canals. You can contact them at 321-868-3292, or email us Stormwater to report problems with the canals.

13. Does the city have maps of the city waterways?

Waterway charts are available for a fee through the City Clerk's office at 321-868-3235. The chart can also be accessed electronically through the city's ArcGIS Portal .

14. What are the hours of operation of the Brevard County Landfill (dump)?

The Brevard County Landfill operates from 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Monday - Saturday. For information on landfill policies and regulations, please call 321-633-1888.
