Felting is an ancient technique of creating a non-woven fabric from animal fibers. It can be done with soap and water, or with a felting needle. Both processes bind the fibers together creating a permanent, irreversible bond. Students will work on a project they chose, at their own pace and experience level. A two dimensional flat textiles, created by soap felting, creates cloth, pictures for framing, handbags, hats and more. Three dimensional sculptural works, usually involving needle felting, can be flowers, plushy creatures or even beads! Glaucia Romano will help you explore several ways of felting woolen fiber into a variety of items Fee for the class is $65 which includes all materials.
