The derelict vessel that has been tied up to the City Pavilion Dock for quite a while has been removed. It often takes some time and effort to remove these vessels. However, thanks to the dedication of Sargent Manny Hernandez (CBPD), Matt Culver (Brevard County), and Wayne Carragino (Cocoa Beach PW) the vessel was removed on 12/27/19.
The State regulations concerning derelict vessels has recently changed and grant money is available to remove the derelict vessels before they become an environmental issue.
Contact Cocoa Beach Public Works to report a derelict vessel.

2020 Mayors challenge

Team Cocoa Beach – In it to Win it – Let’s make it 3 years in a row!

Eleven Mayors in Brevard are challenging their citizens to get involved in a healthy competition – the Health First Mayors’ Fitness Challenge.
Each Mayor will assemble the largest possible group of people from the community to form a city team. Everyone who joins for a municipality is considered part of that mayor's "team." All you have to do is start moving and track it!  The winning team will be determined by the total number of minutes exercised by the members of each team. The municipality with the most points will win the challenger trophy, “Most Fit City 2020.”
The Mayors’ Fitness Challenge is now in full swing! The year the challenge runs February 1 through March 27, 2020. Participants must register before January 8, 2020 to be eligible for a T-shirt.
