Leon Lane milled

The milling and re-paving of Leon Lane and Shepard Drive started yesterday (see photos above). Please note Brevard County Traffic Engineering set the traffic signal at Shepard Drive on "recall" yesterday morning because the milling machine will be milling up and destroying the traffic sensor loop wires that are embedded in the existing pavement to be milled. The traffic sensor loop detects cars at the stoplight and communicates to the stoplight to change because a car is present. By setting the traffic signal controller on recall however, South Shepard Drive will now be getting a green light phase when no vehicles may be present because the destroyed loop wires can no longer detect the presence of vehicles at South Shepard Drive. The sensor loop will be replaced when the new pavement is put down. The project should be completed by May 1st.
