Commissioner Martinez

Commissioner's Corner

As the City of Cocoa Beach progresses through the varying adjustments related to COVID19, I wanted to highlight some of the progress made to work towards        resuming normal life while maintaining safety for both our residents and guests alike. In addition to re-opening          many beachside businesses to include restaurants, bars, gyms, and places of worship in recent months, just this week our public schools re-opened, and teachers welcomed our children back to school! In an effort to keep safety a priority, Cocoa Beach schools provided options to families to have full-time, part-time, e-learning, and virtual school enrollment choices available to their students. We wish our Cocoa Beach teachers, students and families a safe and wonderful school year!

In another effort to return to some of our normal routines, I encourage all of our residents to begin preparing for hurricane season if you haven’t already. Hurricane season runs from June-November. Start preparing by creating an emergency evacuation plan for yourself and your family. Additionally, create an emergency supply kit to include first aid kit, emergency medications, flashlight, non-electric can opener, cash and important documents.  And, don’t forget to have a pet safety plan in place as well.

It is my honor to serve Cocoa Beach as a city commissioner for another term. Thank you for your continued trust and support. As always, I wish everyone safety during this time.

If you have any questions or concerns, I welcome further correspondence at emartinez@cityofcocoabeach.com. It is my pleasure to serve you.
