Dune Crossover

DUNE CROSSOVER UPGRADES

The City will be upgrading two (2) dune crossovers to environmental –friendly crossovers as one of the capital improvement projects for FY-2020-2021. This design is DEP approved and encouraged when replacing wooden structures. These new crossovers will allow easier access, less maintenance,  and are more environmentally inclusive.
You can view one of the first crossovers using this technique at 3rd Street North. The surface of the crossover is made from crushed coquina and allows the walking surface to harden naturally which allows for easy access for bikes and even large wheel wheelchairs.  Additionally, the natural coquina rock allows for natural draining. (See above).
