Robin Hayes, City Manager

I was very fortunate to be selected as the new Cocoa Beach City Manager, an honor and a position I take     seriously. The City Commission arranged for a transitional change in leadership between me and the retiring City Manager, James McKnight, on February 2, 2022.  This transition allowed for each member of the organization the opportunity to meet with both Mr. McKnight and I, allowing a smooth transfer of leadership.

I previously worked for the City of Port Orange, first as a consultant in May 2021 and then Interim Finance Director in August 2021, finally leaving in January 2022. I worked as the City Manager of Mount Dora be tween September 2016 and April 2021. Mount Dora along with a local organization held between 25 and 38 events annually.  Mount Dora is a full-service City with Police, Fire, Leisure Services, Electric, Water/ Wastewater Utilities, and Public Works departments that are always on duty and ready to serve a much larger population than that of the city, very similar to Cocoa Beach.

Prior to Mount Dora, I was with the City of Oviedo and Winter Garden as the Office of Budget Management and  Finance Director, respectfully for just over four years each. I also worked for the City of Titusville as the Budget Officer and Finance Manager for nearly six years and with the School Board of Brevard County in various financial positions for more than five years. I also had the opportunity to work with Parrish Medical as an Accountant for a couple of years and I was with EG&G Florida for nearly ten years as a Project Analyst early in my career.

I am looking forward to building a new City Hall for the citizens of Cocoa Beach, along with a Cultural Green Space for our community to use. The city has been able to build a new Police Station, new Fire Station and a Parking Garage within the community in the last few years. We have also upgraded the wastewater plants and now we are upgrading some of the city streets. Focusing on the infrastructure and those services in which we provide our residents is a major priority. I am looking forward to closing on my new condo in Cocoa Beach and enjoying the wonderfulness of Cocoa Beach.

My door is always open –I can be reached at 321-868-3201.
