Waste Management Engages Hurricane Preparedness Protocol
Update From Waste Management
Good afternoon,
Please be advised that Waste Management has engaged its Hurricane Preparedness Protocol and we are closely watching Tropical Depression Nine.
WM West Melbourne Senior District Manager Mike Lewis and WM Cocoa District Manager Pete Duddie have begun sweeping all areas for clam yard waste, and will be bringing in additional personnel as needed on Saturday to continue the sweeps. We strongly discourage residents from creating additional clam yard waste piles over the weekend, as they may not be collected in advance of the storm.
We encourage residents to visit WMFLoridaStorm.com for real-time updates regarding collection before, during, and after the storm. Please see the attached announcement for your social media platforms. If and when TD 9 becomes a named storm, the website will be updated with information specific to this storm.
We will be in contact with Brevard Solid Waste Director Tom Mulligan over the weekend and into next week regarding any storm impacts related to County landfill and transfer station operations. We will provide additional notifications throughout the weekend as warranted.
Thank you – and we wish you a safe and enjoyable weekend!
Best,
Dina
