City Hall/Public Works Facility


The City Hall/Public Works Facility will be closed Monday, January 2nd, 2023. The offices will resume normal business hours on January 3rd, 2023. 

Business Hours - Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.

Rec Center - Closed January 1st, 2023
                    - Reopen on January 2nd, 2023 for Pickleball from 10 am - 1 pm. 

Aquatic Center - Open December 31st, 2022 from 10 am - 1 pm
                         - Closed January 1st, 2023
                         - Open January 2nd, 2023 from 10 am - 2 pm

The Skatepark, 19th Hole, and the Golf Course will be open during regular hours during the holiday.

Burn Permits for New Years' Eve
Permits for New Years' Eve will only be available online at www.cityofcocoabeach.com/beachfire


Permits will be permitted based on the weather. 

Permits will be available on December 31, 2022, from 12 pm - 5 pm.

Firework Safety - Be Prepared


  • Store fireworks out of the children's reach.
  • Always read and follow label directions
  • Place pets indoors; they are easily frightened by fireworks.
  • Always have water handy (a garden hose or a bucket of water)

If you must have fireworks at home, please follow this safety advise. 


Do

  • Keep fireworks in a closed box
  • Follow the instructions on each firework
  • Light them at arm's length, using, using a taper
  • Stand well back
  • Always supervise children around fireworks
  • Light sparklers one at a time and wear gloves
  • Keep pets indoors 
Don't 
  • Don't drink alcohol while lighting fireworks
  • Never go near a firework that has been lit. Even if it hasn't gone off, it could explode.
  • Never put fireworks in your pocket or throw them.
  • Never give sparklers to a child under 5 years old.
  • Don't light fireworks off after 12:30 am. -Be kind to your neighbors.
  • No fireworks on the beach

City Hall Project

Demolition is expected to begin on January 2, 2023. The City Hall parking lot located at 2 S. Orlando Ave. will be closed to public parking for the duration of the demolition. 

City Hall staff has been temporary relocated to the Public Works Facility at 1600 Minutemen Causeway (next to Cocoa Beach High School).

South Brevard Sidewalk Replacement Project


The City is replacing the asphalt sidewalk on the west side of South Brevard Avenue between 4th Street South and 8th Street South.

Work began on Monday, December 12th. There will be intermittent sidewalk and driveway closures.

Please remember to slow down and stay alert when approaching and passing through work zones.
