NATIONAL HURRICANE PREPAREDNESS WEEK
MAY 15-21, 2016


Hurricane Preparedness Week is your time to prepare for a potential land-falling tropical storm or hurricane. Are you ready? Follow the steps below, offered by the National Hurricane Center to find out.

  1. Determine your risk.
  2. Develop an evacuation plan.
  3. Get an insurance check-up.
  4. Get your disaster supplies.
  5. Strengthen your home.
  6. Identify trusted sources for information during a hurricane event.
  7. Complete your written hurricane plan.

All residents of Cocoa Beach live in a storm surge hurricane evacuation zone so make sure to develop a plan!  Be sure to closely monitor information from Brevard County Emergency Management at http://www.brevardcounty.us/emergencymanagement/preparedness and sign up for CodeRed emergency notification to receive information on the go during hurricanes and evacuations, this is a free service that alerts via cell phone, landline, and or/email.
