Yard Waste & the Lagoon
Keep Yard Waste Away from Storm Drains to Protect Our Waterways
Improperly handled yard waste can cause significant problems for our local environment. Garden scraps and debris that end up in storm drains can turn our waterways into a murky mess and contribute to flooding.
To prevent this:
- Small yard waste should be placed in your yard waste cart.
- Larger piles, about the size of a picnic table or more, should be stacked behind the curb and away from roads, gutters, and storm drains.
Let’s work together to ensure our storm drains stay clear and our waterways clean!
