Storm Update

Hurricane Helene

The City of Cocoa Beach continues to monitor and work closely with the Brevard County Emergency Operations Center regarding Hurricane Helene. The EOC has urged everyone to focus on the sheer size of the storm, not on the cone. Brevard County will feel the impacts of the storm starting later this evening and going into tomorrow/Friday.

City Hall Offices will be closed Thursday, September 26, 2024. The city will continue to monitor the storm and provide updates as they become available.

Sandbag Distribution

The city has decided to provide sand for those who need sandbags.

You will need to bring the following:

  • sandbags
  • shovels
  • assistance if you are unable to lift

Sand will be located at the east side of the Cocoa Beach Country Club located at 5000 Tom Warriner Blvd. It is first come first serve.

Other Closures

The city has preemptively made a decision to shut down ALL of Leisure Services, including all activities at the Country Club, and only essential employees will be reporting to duty.

PLEASE DO NOT come to the golf course tomorrow, even if the weather subsides.  There is a chance the course will have debris that will be a danger that won't be able to be cleaned up until we come back.

No decision has been made for Friday September 27th at this time.  We will post any updates here in the coming days.

Thank you for your understanding and please stay safe.
