Surf and Beach Advisories

Now that Hurricane Helene has passed, we can see the impact left along our beaches. As with many storms, Helene has caused beach erosion, particularly from 6th Street South to the southern end of the city, as observed by our CBFD.

Please use caution when visiting the beaches, as high surf advisories and strong rip currents are still in effect. Storms like this can alter sandbars, creating new and unpredictable rip currents.
