  • Please bring your own bags and shovels. Bags are available for purchase at Ace Hardware.

Electric Vehicles and Storms

As we prepare for hurricanes, it's essential to safeguard all types of electric vehicles—whether it's your car, e-bike, or scooter. Follow these steps to protect your investment from storm damage:

1.  Charge Everything Fully: Before the storm arrives, make sure all your electric vehicles are fully charged in case of power outages.

2. Park & Store Safely:

 - EVs: Park in a garage or a covered area. If you're in a flood zone, move your car to higher ground.

 - E-Bikes & Scooters: Store them indoors if possible, or at least elevate them to protect from flooding. If outside, secure them with waterproof covers and anchor them to prevent them from being blown away.

3. Unplug Chargers: After charging, unplug all chargers to prevent damage from power surges.

4. Remove Batteries: For electric scooters and bikes with removable batteries, take them out and store them in a dry, safe place.

5. Secure Home Charging Stations: For those with home charging stations, secure or store the charging equipment in a safe, dry location.

By taking these precautions, you’ll ensure your electric vehicles—big or small—are ready to weather the storm!
