Debris Update from the City Manager

Due to the massive amount of destruction throughout the Southeast this hurricane season, the company the city has contracted to pick up the storm debris cannot respond to our needs in a timely manner after Hurricane Milton. We therefore have responded with our alternate plan of action using different contractors.

The current status of the cleanup is as follows:

1. Waste Management Clam Trucks began yesterday (10.15.24) picking up the larger piles of yard debris at the north end of the city. They will continue moving south.

2. Waste Management is also emptying the yard waste containers on their normal schedule.

3. City Crews and various other contractors will follow waste management and pick up smaller missed piles.

Please help us by gathering all your vegetative debris piles and placing them in the right of way of your homes. Do not block stormwater drains or block the streets.

If you can, use your yard waste containers as Waste Management will collect the bins on your normal scheduled route.
