We hope your July 4th wasn’t completely ruined by the rain brought in from the Gulf!
Despite the weather, we also hope you were able to celebrate with us and enjoy the spectacular drone show over the holiday weekend.

As we continue to share important information to help you and your neighbors stay storm ready, this past weekend was a perfect example of how quickly things can change.

The rain system that passed over us rapidly intensified—first becoming a tropical depression and then quickly developing into Tropical Storm Chantal, making landfall in South Carolina.

Each phase of that storm happened within a single day. It’s a powerful reminder that storms—and emergencies—can escalate quickly. We want to ensure our community is prepared when they do.

The City of Cocoa Beach is committed to keeping our community informed especially during storms.
If you’ve been through a storm or two, you already know how critical timely and accurate information can be.

During storm events, we’ll use all available communication channels to keep you updated, including:

• CBNN (Cocoa Beach News Network) – this email service CBNN 

• Facebook – City of Cocoa Beach Facebook Page

• X (formerly Twitter) @CocoaBeach_City

We rely heavily on Facebook during storms because it allows for quick and frequent updates.

Additionally, we coordinate with Brevard County Emergency Management to share important updates from the National Weather Service and provide relevant local information for Cocoa Beach and the surrounding areas.
