City of Cocoa Beach Remembers Our First City Manager, 

James Doyle

The City of Cocoa Beach is saddened to announce the passing of Mr. James Doyle at the age of 99.

Mr. Doyle made history as the first City Manager of Cocoa Beach, appointed shortly after the adoption of our City Charter in 1958. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in shaping the foundation of our city government, overseeing early municipal operations, guiding public works projects, and establishing the administrative framework that still serves our community today. His dedication helped set the stage for the growth and development of Cocoa Beach into the vibrant city it is now.

We extend our deepest condolences to Mr. Doyle’s family and loved ones. His legacy will be remembered and honored by all who call Cocoa Beach home.
