Disaster Recovery Center in Cocoa To Close at 1 p.m. Sunday
A Disaster Recovery Center opened at the UF/IFAS Agricultural Center, 3695 Lake Drive in Cocoa, in the wake of Hurricane Irma will officially shutdown at 1 p.m. Sunday, November 5.
Representatives from several agencies remain at the center to work with residents who need help filing for FEMA assistance, applying for low-interest loans, registering for disaster unemployment programs, or other storm-related aid. Agencies on hand include FEMA, the Small Business Administration, CareerSource Brevard's unemployment program, and the Department of Economic Opportunity and Re-Employment Assistance. The deadline to apply for individual assistance has been extended to Nov. 24.
There is no charge for any of the services.
