Red Tide Update:

Clean up crews are now on the beach picking up the dead fish. Fish kill is concentrated from 4th Street North to Shepard Park South. KBB is looking for volunteers please call 321-458-4363 to volunteer. Do not pick up the dead fish without gloves. If you volunteer, KBB will provide the supplies you need to help in the clean up.

The Fire Department has already surveyed the beach and continues to remind people with breathing issues to stay off the beach. Persons with asthma and COPD especially should remain inside. If you are experiencing an emergency please call 911.
Pet owners it is advisable to keep your outdoor pets inside. At this time you should probably keep your dogs off the beach. The foam from the waves is 10 times more toxic than the water. Do not allow your dogs to play with or eat the dead fish. If your dog does go into the water please rinse them off to remove the toxins. Please share this information with your neighbors. The City will be providing updates as more information becomes available.
