Commissioner's Corner: Karalyn Woulas
I was away on travel for work last week in Arizona. As much as I have traveled, I still get a bit of anxiety every time I leave. But the trip took me out of my crazy schedule and gave me a moment to reflect. Then I came to the sudden realization that the holidays are rapidly approaching, Thanksgiving being just around the corner. I panicked for a second but then I got to thinking of why we are actually celebrating this holiday and the many blessings in life that I should be so obviously thankful for. The first thing of all is for my family. With the unending love and support from my family and friends, I am able to fearlessly charge through the challenges that each day brings. To have the ability to miss those we have lost knowing that we were able to laugh and cry with them in life. They will always be in our hearts. And as I ventured to this new awesome place, my thoughts still drifted back to Cocoa Beach until we touched down again at OIA and I drove “across the bridge”. Our marvelous, seaside sanctuary, our natural beauty of our beaches and lagoon, and all the warm people who call this home. Remember to take a little time out to thank God for our many blessings and pray for those who have not been as fortunate as ourselves. I want to wish you all a Happy Cocoa Beach Thanksgiving!
