You will explore the different types of watercolor paper; brushes and paint choices. and practice techniques, including wet on wet and wet on dry. These watercolor experiences will be fun, with no worrying that you might "ruin a painting”! After this class you will be ready to paint a picture in watercolor and understand what supplies you will need.
Jan Bryant is an experienced painter and art instructor.If you have been waiting to explore watercolor painting, here is your chance to work with a great teacher.

03 Learn to Oil Paint
Learn to Oil Paint2023-02-03T14:30:00The Studios of Cocoa Beach is hosting two oil painting classes in February taught by Delia Swenson. The classes are on Fridays from 2:30 to 3:30 pm. Students can choose to attend on February 3 or February 17. Or both!
On February 3, students will learn the basics of oil paining on a wooden plank and create a beautiful moonscape, “Florida in the Moonlight”. On February 17 students will paint a colorful “Sunset Lagoon”
Delia Swenson is an accomplished painter and experienced teacher. Students ages 14 and up will learn the basics of painting wet on wet with oil paints, using professional artist brushes and paints, and take home a work of art you'll be proud to display.

04 Kids Art Class
Kids Art Class2023-02-04T10:00:00In February the children’s Saturday art adventure at the Studios of Cocoa Beach will be “Driving Around Town” with instructor Glaucia Romano. The class meets every Saturday from 10 to 11 am, beginning on February 4, 2023
In this fun-filled art class students will express their creativity by building one-of-a-kind plaster vehicles! The class will last 4 weeks and will include planning and design, creating a frame, working with plaster, painting, and decorating. At the end of class they will have a large car sculpture that is completely unique.
Glaucia has a Masters Degree in Art Education and is a certified Art Educator in the state of Florida. She has a wide knowledge of a variety of media and processes and can't wait to share them with you!
The class meets February 4,11,18 and 25. Fee is $80 which includes all materials.

Opening for "Colors of Emotion" Exhibit2023-02-04T18:00:00The Studios of Cocoa Beach is honored to present “Emotions of Color” an exhibit of paintings by Phyllis Shipley. Phyllis is internationally known for her colorful art work. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 6 to 9 pm.
Phyllis Shipley has been producing fine art paintings for the past thirty years and has been a successful gallery owner, art show participant and award winner, and a continuing student in the details of water-color and acrylics.
The reception is an opportunity to meet the artist, enjoy wine and appetizers, and explore the gallery at 159 Minutemen Causeway in downtown Cocoa Beach. The exhibit runs from January 31 to February 27. This non-profit gallery is open Monday to Saturday 9 am to 7 pm, and Sundays 10 am to 3 pm. February Exhibit: The Art of Phyllis Shipley2023-02-07T09:00:00“Emotions of Color” an exhibit of paintings by Phyllis Shipley. Phyllis is internationally known for her colorful art work. She has been producing fine art paintings for the past thirty years and has been a successful gallery owner, art show participant and award winner, and a continuing student in the details of water-color and acrylics.
Phyllis says, “Painting, for me, is driven by emotion. And color relates that emotion. As I layer thin glazes of paint, my subject evolves as my "inner vision" dictates in expressing strength, gentleness, rhythm and color. Color is all around us and has a way of producing reactions to our senses. “Emotions of Color” is my story as I strive to express joy, surprise, memories, desires,longings and energy for life in my work. Can you relate?”
The exhibit runs from January 31 to February 27. This non-profit gallery is open Monday to Saturday 9 am to 7 pm, and Sundays 10 am to 3 pm.

Watercolor Workshop begins February 72023-02-07T13:00:00Jan Bryant continues her popular watercolor classes at the Studios of Cocoa Beach . A four session workshop will meet on Tuesdays from 1 to 3 pm beginning February 7 and continuing February 14,21 and 28. Make up dates are available.
Students will work on their own painting , developing the painting with various techniques and critiques. More than one painting may be worked on during the four sessions. Jan will work with each student to develop their own particular skills and artistic approach. Students must supply ALL their own materials and a picture or combination of pictures to be the subject of the paintings. Students needing supplies should contact Jan at jbryant5@cfl.rr.com before class in order to determine needs and related costs.

10 Needle Felting Class
Needle Felting Class2023-02-10T17:30:00 The class covers the basics of felting to create beautiful two and three-dimensional artwork using wool. Needle-felting can be a calming, enjoyable, and meditative process due to its repetitive motions. Regardless of the process, the action of felting binds fibers together creating a permanent , irreversible bond.

Handbuilt Pottery Class2023-02-24T17:30:00 This class is perfect for anyone who is interested in learning or improving their hand-building processes with clay.
Instructor Glaucia Romano will guide you as you learn the basics of hand-building with clay by using slabs, coils, or pinch-pot techniques, discover how to use a variety of tools and molds, and how to add texture. Work at your own pace and at your own level! There will be examples for you to work from, or bring your own ideas.
Firing and Glazing:Your artwork needs to dry for a week before it can be
