    The Studios of Cocoa Beach begins the New Year with two solo exhibits. “A Fused Glass Retrospective by Jamille Haddad” and “Painting the Tropics by Delia Swenson” will be on view from January 3 to January 29. Jamille Haddad has been working in glass for 40 years. After reading an article in a stained glass journal, he became intrigued by the possibilities of fused glass,and learned the basics at the Bullseye Fusing Ranch in Portland, Oregon, His exhibit includes examples of fused glass techniques including glass panels, plates, sculptural vases, dam casts, gold enameling and other functional works  Delia Swenson paints in oils on wood and canvas capturing the natural colors of our tropical environment. She explores the beauty of local gardens and flowers,as well as Florida beaches, parks, and recreational areas. Her masterful use of color and composition brings her landscapes to life. You can almost hear the wind and smell the flowers and salt air in her realistic oil paintings.

    “Art Class for Homeschoolers” taught by Glaucia Romano. The class meets on Mondays from 10 to 11 am beginning on January 23, 2023. This class offers an ongoing art program attuned to the Florida Standards for students K-12 interested in an art elective.The class allows for a student-centered approach with individual attention. Throughout the year students will explore a variety of media including drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, textiles, clay, and print-making. Class meets on January 23 and 30, February 6,13,27 and March 6 at the Studios’ classroom behind the gallery at 159 Minutemen Causeway in downtown Cocoa Beach. Fee for the six weeks is $120. Students should bring a an 8x11 or 9x12 spiral-bound unlined sketchbook . Questions?
