The Studios of Cocoa Beach begins the New Year with two solo exhibits. “A Fused Glass Retrospective by Jamille Haddad” and “Painting the Tropics by Delia Swenson” will be on view from January 3 to January 29. Jamille Haddad has been working in glass for 40 years. After reading an article in a stained glass journal, he became intrigued by the possibilities of fused glass,and learned the basics at the Bullseye Fusing Ranch in Portland, Oregon, His exhibit includes examples of fused glass techniques including glass panels, plates, sculptural vases, dam casts, gold enameling and other functional works  Delia Swenson paints in oils on wood and canvas capturing the natural colors of our tropical environment. She explores the beauty of local gardens and flowers,as well as Florida beaches, parks, and recreational areas. Her masterful use of color and composition brings her landscapes to life. You can almost hear the wind and smell the flowers and salt air in her realistic oil paintings.

This is an introductory class where beginners will explore the different types of watercolor paper; brushes and paint choices. and practice techniques, including wet on wet and wet on dry. These watercolor experiences will be fun, with no worrying that you might "ruin a painting”! After this class you will be ready to paint a picture in watercolor and understand what supplies you will need. Instructor Jan Bryant is an award winning artist with many one man shows to her credit. She works in watercolors, acrylics, ink and pastels. If you have been waiting to explore watercolor painting, here is your chance to work with a great teacher.
