Duo Exhibits at Studios of Cocoa Beach

The Studios of Cocoa Beach begins the New Year with two solo exhibits. “A Fused Glass Retrospective by Jamille Haddad” and “Painting the Tropics by Delia Swenson” will be on view from January 3 to January 29. Jamille Haddad has been working in glass for 40 years. After reading an article in a stained glass journal, he became intrigued by the possibilities of fused glass,and learned the basics at the Bullseye Fusing Ranch in Portland, Oregon, His exhibit includes examples of fused glass techniques including glass panels, plates, sculptural vases, dam casts, gold enameling and other functional works  Delia Swenson paints in oils on wood and canvas capturing the natural colors of our tropical environment. She explores the beauty of local gardens and flowers,as well as Florida beaches, parks, and recreational areas. Her masterful use of color and composition brings her landscapes to life. You can almost hear the wind and smell the flowers and salt air in her realistic oil paintings.

Coffee and Watercolors Art Party

Instructor Jan Bryant is a retired Coffee Master and Barista as well as a wonderful watercolor artist. She’s bringing her new espresso machine for some great coffee and winter painting! Enjoy the java then learn watercolor basics as you create a painting. Come at 8:30 to have some fine coffee, and then begin creating a painting of “Coffee in the Window” at 9:15. Jan will bring coffee, hot chocolate and tea. Fee for the class is $70. All levels are invited and all supplies…and drinks…are included. Bring a breakfast snack if you wish. Register at the Studios website www.studiosofcocoabeach.org. The Studios’ workshop room is behind the gallery at 159 Minutemen Causeway in downtown Cocoa Beach. Their gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday 9 am to 7 pm and Sundays 10 am to 3 pm.
