  • The city maintains street signs and signals on all city streets except A1A and SR 520.

    • If a traffic sign on a city street needs repair or replacement call 321-868-3219 or 321-868-3293.
    • If a traffic signal is out during the day call 321-868-3219 or 321-868-3371.
    • For problems on State Road A1A or SR 520 please contact the Florida Department Of Transportation's office in Cocoa at 321-690-3250.
    • To report a malfunctioning traffic signal after hours anywhere in the city, please call Cocoa Beach Police Dispatch non-emergency line at 321-868-3251 or 321-868-3260.

  • Streetlights are maintained by Florida Power and Light (FPL). FPL can be contacted at 321-723-7795.

  • In order to make sure that a site is safe for digging you can enter a ticket at Sunshine811 or call them at 800-432-4770.

  • The city has a contract with an outside firm to maintain the flags. If one of our flags has been damaged please notify us at 321-868-3219, or 321--868-3293, and we will contact the contractor immediately.

  • You can report a trash pick up concern at Waste Management or 321-636-6894. If you need additional assistance after contacting Waste Management, please contact the city at 321-868-3219 or by email public works.

  • Brevard County Animal Control is responsible for dealing with stray dogs and cats.

  • Sea turtles are a protected species and numerous agencies and volunteer groups devote time and money to preserve the species. The Turtle Preservation Society should be notified at 321-676-1701 if you find a nest or turtles in peril.

    Upon their inspection, the turtles will be marked with orange paint to indicate that they have been inspected and are ready to be disposed of by city workers.

    Dolphins and Manatees: The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) is notified:

  • The stormwater sewers in the city are maintained by the City's Stormwater Department. You can call Stormwater at 321-868-3292, or email stormwater if the drains on your street are blocked or if you have an ongoing water drainage problem. The Stormwater Department also operates a street sweeper to remove excess sand and dirt from roadways.

  • The City's Public Works Department handles dune crossover repairs, you can report damage by reporting crossover damage online or calling 321-868-3219 to report any such repair needs.

  • The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) issues field permits for such trimming, they can be contacted at 321-725-4548.

  • The City's Stormwater Department is responsible for maintaining clear passage on the city's canals. You can contact them at 321-868-3292, or email us Stormwater to report problems with the canals.

  • Waterway charts are available for a fee through the City Clerk's office at 321-868-3235. The chart can also be accessed electronically through the city's ArcGIS Portal .
