The Beach Ranger program was implemented in 2012 to assist the Police Department with order maintenance on our crowded beaches. While on patrol, the Beach Rangers identify violations of City Code and pursue compliance.
There are nine (9) part-time Rangers who monitor the beach on weekends and holiday Mondays from February through September, with a limited number of Rangers who work year-round.
Beach Rangers are trained in the operation all-terrain vehicles, Code Enforcement, CPR, basic first aid, water rescue, and traffic direction/control.
